Qualcomm Declares Snapdragon 845 Mobile Chipset
Qualcomm at its Snapdragon Tech Summit revealed the Snapdragon 845 mobile platform, its next gen flagship processor, this week. The mobile platform is the heir to Snapdragon 835, which was rolled out at CES 2017 and has fueled various flagship handsets of the year comprising Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S8, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, HTC U11, Google Pixel 2, LG V30, and Pixel 2 XL.
It has already been verified that Snapdragon 845 will fuel next flagship gadgets of Xiaomi. It is expected to fuel many other future flagship handsets in 2018 as well. As per Qualcomm, Snapdragon 845 pledges a faster, smarter, a more immersive, and safer mobile world. The latest mobile platform will provide enhanced security for handsets, will aim on artificial intelligence, and offers more influential mobile experience.
At the similar event, general manager and president of the foundry business for Samsung Electronics, ES Jung, declared that the chipsets of Snapdragon 845 will be utilized by the company as well. No further data related to Snapdragon 845 was revealed by Qualcomm. It is planned to roll out the mobile platform this week, and more data about it will be released soon.
On the other hand, different media reports for quite some time now have discussed about the chipset. What we are aware regarding the Snapdragon 845 from these data is that it will aim on machine learning, and much similar to its precursor, will be a 10nm FinFET chip. It is anticipated to have an octa-core 4 + 4 configuration.
On the same note, Qualcomm also restated its joint venture with Microsoft and declared that the 2 firms are joining hands on Always Connected devices that come on Snapdragon with Windows 10. Asus, the Taiwanese technology company, rolled out its ASUS NovaGo 2-in-1 convertible laptop, which is the first “Windows on Snapdragon device” of the world.
