India is a perfect amalgamation of various religions and casts who prefer following diversified beliefs and rituals. Hence, it is the responsibility of all the citizens to take care of the emotions related to those beliefs. Though the country has evolved from the stage where sanitation was about excreting in the field, the emotions are still deep-rooted.
Shilpa Shetty and Salman Khan are the most popular faces of the B-Town and are under public eye 24X7. Any wrong comment or unintentional word can hurt the emotion of the people of various casts.
On December 23, a complaint was lodged against these two celebs at the Andheri Police station regarding the usage of the word ‘Bhangi’ at a public forum. This has hurt the sentiments of the people who belong to the Scheduled Caste community. Again a fresh complaint was lodged on Monday by a staff of the Republican Party of India-A against the same faces to ensure a strict action.
Shilpa Shetty conveyed her apologies via Twitter, which hasn’t changed the seriousness of the situation. As per the law, they should be punished with an imprisonment of 5 years. The people of Dalit Samaj have even stated that if strict measures are not taken against the offensive statement then the people across the country will stand in unison against the authority.
Shilpa Shetty started an interview with, “I look like a Bhangi” and Salman Khan used the word ‘Bhangi’ against the people of Scheduled Caste on a TV show. Both of them have commenced a punishable crime under the section of Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes Amendment Act 2015 and the Protection of Civil Rights Act 1995.
The lady in question has apologized but no action has been taken by Salman Khan. Their fate is yet to be seen in the coming days.
